Getting there
By air: Flying is easiest way to get to Kenya, and its premier airport, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, is where most air traffic arrives. The main airline, Kenya Airways, flies directly to some European cities. Kenya also has connections with its neighbouring African countries.
By land: Kenya borders Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda and Tanzania. There are land borders with all except Somalia and Sudan.
Getting around
By air: There are flights between Nairobi and other regional airports within Kenya although they are generally used only for long distances.
By train: Trains operating in the country cover long distances but they only cover the Mombasa-Nairobi-Kisumu railroad.
Bu bus: Buses can get overcrowded but operate a far better network than the trains.
By Matatus: These are minibuses which run services around towns and also between closer towns within the same region. Tourists are advised to steer clear of them as the drivers are notorious for their erratic driving.
